What It Is
The VBeam Perfacta is a pulsed dye laser system recognized as the “Gold Standard” for treating redness and a wide variety of vascular skin conditions. The laser is used to target discolouration associated with the natural aging process, such as redness, broken capillaries, pigmented lesions, and more. This laser treatment delivers an intense, yet gentle burst of light to the skin, which is then absorbed by the blood vessels in the skin. During the healing process, the body absorbs these heated blood vessels to result in a more even toned, radiant complexion.
There are a wide range of skin conditions that can be effectively treated by the VBeam Perfacta. These include:
Spider veins and nose thread veins
Diffuse redness of the face and neck
Post-acne red scars
Post-surgical red scars
Sun spots and Freckles
The VBeam Perfacta is an extremely safe, non-invasive procedure that will brighten and smooth out the skin tone, effectively eliminating surface facial veins and discolouration.
How It Works
The VBeam Perfacta delivers an intense, yet gentle burst of light to specified areas of the skin, which is then absorbed by the blood vessels. This will cause them to collapse without causing any damage to surrounding skin cells and tissues. During the healing process, the body absorbs these heated blood vessels and will eliminate them through natural processes to result in a more even toned, radiant complexion.
The VBeam Perfacta is safe for use in many areas of the body, including the face, neck, chest, back, arms, and legs. The laser treatment works particularly well for those with pale skin and moderately well on olive skin tones. It is not effective for use on darker skin tones as the laser’s wavelength transmission is blocked by the melanin (pigment) in deep skin tones. Patients with darker skin types can consider microdermabrasion, chemical peels, or laser resurfacing if they are seeking an improvement in skin tone and texture.
Many of our patients who receive the VBeam Perfacta are able to effectively treat skin discolouration without invasive surgery or incisions that would result in a lengthy recovery period away from work and daily activities. The treatment can provide a total facial rejuvenation involving reducing the appearance of red and brown pigmented lesions, to the removal of small, localized imperfections on the skin.
The results of VBeam Perfacta are cumulative, so we will recommend a series of treatment sessions during your consultation to best meet your skin care needs and desired results. Repeated sessions will aid the skin in collagen production and expedite the process of breaking up vessels and other conditions causing pigmentation in the skin. Depending on the severity of the condition and the size of the treatment area, it will likely take more than a single session to notice dramatic improvements. Your specific treatment schedule will be determined by Dr. Jain during your consultation and will be uniquely customized to your skin care needs.
