What It Is
Microneedling has the ability to reduce the appearance of scars, hyperpigmentation, and discolouration on the skin by stimulating the natural production of collagen in a minimally invasive way.
Using a dermapen, a medical device, the skin is pierced in a non-invasive way that triggers your body’s natural wound healing process. This will result in increased elastin and collagen production and regenerate the healthy production of skin cells to provide you with anti aging benefits and improvements in fine lines, wrinkles, and dynamic folds.
One of the benefits of microneedling is its versatility– it can be performed on any area of the skin that needs improvement. It works well in areas with acne scars, discolouration, lines and wrinkles, and even stretch marks such as the face, arms, legs, chest, and back. It also has the ability to stimulate dormant hair follicles, which can help in new hair growth.
How It Works
At your consultation, the entire microneedling process will be outlined and all your questions will be addressed. Once you’re ready, a numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area to minimize discomfort during the procedure.
A dermapen, a handheld medical device, will be used throughout the procedure. It has a circular head with tiny needles that are used to pierce the skin in a minimally invasive way. This will stimulate your body’s natural healing process and result in collagen and elastin production. This will provide improvements to your skin discolouration as well as provide you with anti aging benefits and improvements in wrinkles, fine lines, and dynamic folds.
We will work in small sections at a time and you will be involved in providing feedback throughout so that you will be as comfortable as possible.
Immediately following your session, you will notice that your skin appears tighter and plumper. Your results will gradually improve with time and you will notice improvements in fine lines and wrinkles, and in the overall tone and texture of your skin. The treatment will assist in the breaking down of old tissue and skin cells, which can help with repairing sun damage and melasma while also stimulating the production of collagen and elastin for healthy, rejuvenated skin.
How long does the procedure last?
After approximately 2 to 3 days following your procedure, collagen production will be increased, although it will take about 4 weeks to start seeing more noticeable, dramatic results. The new formation of collagen should last several years, which is why microneedling is considered a treatment with excellent longevity. This will improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as increase the firmness of the skin.Back
