What It Is

The Obagi Blue Peel is a chemical peel that is designed to rejuvenate the facial skin and complexion. Layers of damaged or aged skin can be removed from the face or body by the application of a mixture of Trichloracetic Acid in a blue solution. The Obagi Blue Peel is effective in the treatment of blemishes, acne, fine lines and wrinkles, uneven pigmentation, skin discolouration, and scarring.

The Obagi Blue Peel is especially unique and unlike other chemical peels on the market as Dr. Jain will be able to administer the peel depth and process in a highly customized manner that meets your unique skincare needs.

Areas Treated

The Obagi Blue Peel is most commonly applied to the face, but can also be applied to other areas of the body with uneven pigmentation and acne such as the hands, chest, neck, back, arms, and legs.

How It Works

The Obagi Blue Peel uses the active ingredient, Trichloracetic Acid, in different proportions depending on your skincare needs. The application of the Obagi Blue Peel allows Dr. Jain to completely control the depth and intensity of the peel in order to remove the damaged surface layers of the skin from the treated area. The dead skin cells will be replaced by newer, younger ones to provide your skin with renewed elasticity, hydration, and clarity.

This type of cosmetic treatment is also ideal for those with darker skin tones, although it does take extra care and additional know-how. Results

Immediately after your Obagi Blue Peel session, it is normal to experience mild swelling and redness. Within a few days, your skin will begin its peeling process and will continue to peel for around 7 to 10 days. Once the peeling process has ended, you will start to see the dramatic results of your initial treatment.

Over the next 4 to 6 weeks, the results from the treatment will steadily improve. You will notice that the skin will gradually become smoother, radiant, youthful, and firmer.

How long do the results last?

The longevity of the procedure is dependent on the level of care you put into your post-treatment skin regimine. We always recommend the daily application of a broad spectrum sunscreen to protect your newly rejuvenated skin from the potentially harmful effects of the UV rays emitted from the sun. We will discuss best practices for post-treatment care in order to ensure your results are maintained for as long as possible.

For the majority of patients, a series of peels at 8 week intervals are sufficient to achieve desired results. In order to ensure best results and long-term benefits, we recommend maintenance treatments every 6 to 12 months once the appropriate level of correction is achieved. This will be discussed with you during your initial consultation with Dr. Jain.
