Facelift and Necklift (Rhytidectomy)

Facelift also known as Rhytidectomy is a cosmetic surgery procedure to remove lax skin. This lax skin can be due to aging, gravity, life style, hereditary or environmental factors. Dr. Jain attempts to achieve results such as to make the patient look healthy and youthful but natural. Dr. Jain will only remove the skin and subcutaneous tissues of the face that can be done safely and suitable for your particular facial contour.

The facelift procedure can improve wrinkled skin and folds, but skin type and patient's age are important factors in the final result. At Fairview Laser Clinic facelift procedure is generally performed under local anesthesia with i.v. sedation. The recovery period is about 10-12 days.

"How long will it last?" This is difficult to say as there are many factors involved. Those factors are the amount of skin removed; age and condition of the patient; skin type, as well as its condition and texture; amount of previous sun and wind exposure as well as healing ability. Skin aging continues after this operation even though the excess skin and wrinkles have been removed. The operation does not stop the aging process. In some cases Dr. Jain combines facelift procedure with laser resurfacing for even better result.
