Men and women alike want to look their best for special events, especially when they know they’re going to be photographed. Whether it’s your daughter’s wedding and you want to look incredible walking her down the aisle; your 20-year high school reunion and you want to be as fresh-faced as you were when you were head cheerleader; or you’re being honoured by your company for your many years of hard work, there are cosmetic treatments you can get for to look great at special events.

Cosmetic Treatments For Special Events

Botox

Botox is an anti-wrinkle treatment that temporarily paralyzes the facial muscles to limit their movement. By limiting movement, wrinkles (particularly those that are caused by repetitive facial movements), briefly disappear. Botox in an injectible and the process takes only a few minutes to complete. The effects of Botox can last anywhere from three to six months. Many people report no side-effects from Botox injections, although in rare cases bruising can occur. Botox will give you smooth, younger-looking skin and is one of the more popular anti-wrinkle treatments on the market.

Chemical Peels

If you’re looking to have your skin refreshed without using Botox, a chemical peel can do the trick. Chemical peels are customizable to each patient’s skin type and allow cell turnover to create a smoother complexion. During a chemical peel procedure, chemicals are applied to the skin and left to settle for a controlled time period before being neutralized. In the days that follow the treatment, your old skin peels off to make way for radiant new skin. The results from a chemical peel are not noticeable until the old skin disappears and your skin will show some redness for a few days afterwards. Once complete, a chemical peel will leave you with a gorgeous new complexion.

Microdermabrasion

Like a chemical peel, microdermabrasion is an exfoliation-type procedure that gets rid of old, damaged skin. Fine aluminum oxide crystals are applied to the face and used to sweep away the top layer of skin to uncover a fresher layer of skin underneath. A microdermabrasion procedure is also perfect for people who’ve suffered sun damage because the damaged skin will be removed to reveal a brighter, more youthful complexion. Microdermabrasion may require more than one visit to the doctor so plan accordingly.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are injectables that fill in wrinkles and fine lines caused by loss of skin volume and elasticity. These fillers are made of hyaluronic acid which is a skin component that is already found in our bodies. Dermal filler injections create smooth, fresher looking skin and the effects can last anywhere from six months to a year.

Don’t wait too long to book your appointment with a cosmetic surgeon. Although these cosmetic treatments are non-surgical, you still need to to make an appointment with a qualified doctor. Moreover, you will need to give your skin time to heal after the procedure.
