Mole & Birth Marks

Moles

Moles are raised or flat spots formed on the skin. These may be brown, black and red in colour, formed due to aging, exposure to elements or hereditary. At Fairview Clinic Dr. Jain removes the moles using Co2 or KTP lasers or surgical technique of shaving. If a mole is of suspicious origin, it is sent to the lab for analysis. Multiple of moles can be removed in one session. Dr. Jain attempts to remove the mole giving the minimal scar.

Birth Marks

Birth Marks are marks on the skin formed before the birth. The cause of their formation is not certain. It is suspected to be cellular damage due to radiation, chemicals or genetic. Also known as skin lesion or naevis, the birth marks can be found any where on the body. Some of the birth marks are not treatable. However in most cases the birth marks are treated by multiple treatments with Nd YAG and KTP laser. The treatments are given after an interval of about 4 weeks.

Age Spots

Age Spots also called Liver spots are blemish on the skin associated with ageing and damage due to sun exposure. They range in colour from light brown to black and are located in areas most often exposed to the sun, particularly the hands, face, shoulders, arms and forehead. The age spots are more common in the people over the age of 40 years and those who are involved in out door activities.

In most cases the age spots are not medically dangerous but only cosmetically unsightly. These are treated using KTP Laser or Nd YAG Laser.
